We suggest using only steam mops or damp mopping using distilled white vinegar or glass cleaners heavily diluted with water to clean your flooring. Neither does it give a surface a yellowish appearance. Do not wet mop. Unlike the old waxed floors which needed a lot of coats of wax and buffing on a regular basis cleaning polyurethane floors is very easy.

However you want to stick to just a damp mop not a sopping wet mop. In general the best way to maintain a polyurethane finished hardwood floor is to keep the floor free from dust and moisture and to clean it often. Despite its durable finish polyurethane flooring can start to wear out eventually. It is recommended that you have your hardwood floors deep cleaned at least twice a year while applying a new coat of polyurethane at least once.
